  • What is FAR and FRR?

FAR (False Accept Rate) means the percentage of times the biometric reader recognises a false finger as a correct one.

FRR (False Reject Rate) means the percentage of times the biometric reader recognises a correct finger as a false one.

  • How do I add fingerprint on Mirage?

You can find an instructional video here: Mirage Set Up Tutorial

Adding your fingerprint is very simple and very similar to how you add fingerprints on a phone. Simple use the provided tool to press the set button, then place the desired finger onto the pad, then remove and replace it in slightly different positions 4 times. The first 3 fingerprints added will be admin fingerprints, you will require an admin fingerprint to add any fingerprints in future.

We recommend that you register multiple fingers/thumbs per user to ensure you have multiple options if one doesn’t recognise.

  • Can I add fingerprints for multiple people on Mirage?

Yes, the Mirage fingerprint padlock can hold up to 20 fingerprints at once. We recommend adding multiple fingerprints per user, to ensure they have multiple options to unlock. The admin user would be required to add further fingerprints.

  • What is a shackle and the difference between long/short?

The shackle is the part of the Mirage fingerprint padlock that you attach to whatever you want to secure. We have both short and long options available. The short shackle is what you would expect from a typical padlock. The long shackle is 20mm longer to accommodate larger object where you require more space to secure the padlock.

  • How big is the Mirage fingerprint padlock?

Short Shackle: 90mm long, 55mm wide, 25mm deep

Long Shackle: 110mm long, 55mm wide, 25mm deep

  • How long does the battery last on the Mirage padlock?

The battery on the fingerprint padlock lasts up to 200 days or 4,000 operations on a full charge depending on the environment. It is rechargeable via the micro-USB port in the bottom of the padlock. When the battery is low, you will see a purple LED flash upon use and will have roughly 400 operations before the battery runs out (we suggest you charge it at this point). In any circumstance that the battery has run out, simply insert a micro-USB cable from a power bank or plug to give temporary power to unlock, then charge as normal.

  • Will Blusafe Breeze fit my door?

Blusafe Breeze is designed to work with any internal doors with a standard latch.

  • Will Blusafe Origin fit my door?

Blusafe Origin is designed to fit any door with a standard UK multi-point lock. In simple terms, if you have a uPVC or Composite door, then Origin will work. If you have a Wooden or Aluminium with a 92mm multi-point lock, Origin should also work.

Origin will not work on Traditional Latch locks, Mortice locks or standard Deadbolt locks.

If you are still unsure whether Origin will work on your door or you are unsure what a multi-point lock looks like, please feel free to email a picture of your door and lock to enquiries@blusafesolutions.co.uk and we will let you know ASAP.

  • What happens if there is a power cut or the internet doesn’t work?

Blusafe Origin is battery operated and works via Bluetooth, therefore you are never locked out. You will still be able to use your fingerprint, key-card, App or wireless keypad if there is a power cut.
The only functionality that will be affected are those that require an internet connection, such as remotely controlling the lock and any Smart Home functions.

Blusafe Breeze is battery operated and has no connection to the internet, therefore the lock will work regardless. If the batteries die, it still has a manual backup key.

Blusafe Mirage is powered by an internal, rechargeable battery, therefore the lock will work providing it has charge. If the battery dies, it can be powered via a micro-usb cable.

  • Can I use rechargeable batteries in my lock?

No, unfortunately the Origin requires non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries and the Breeze requires non-rechargeable AAA alkaline batteries.

The Mirage padlock features a built in rechargeable battery that is powered by a micro-usb cable.

  • How is the lock powered?

Origin: 4xAA batteries. Please note that using better quality batteries will extend the battery life.
Breeze: 4xAAA batteries. Please note that using better quality batteries will extend the battery life.
Mirage: Internal rechargeable battery, charged via a micro-usb port.

  • How long will the batteries last?

This varies depending on the standard of batteries installed and the frequency the handle is used. Please see the recommended battery life for each product:

Origin: New AA batteries will last roughly 6-12 months depending on the above factors.
Breeze: New AAA batteries will last roughly 6 months depending on the above factors.
Mirage: A full charge will last up to 200 days or 4,000 operations depending on usage and environment.

We recommend that batteries in the Breeze and Origin are changed every 6 months for optimum performance.
